The Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) is a national, multi-ethnic professional organization founded in 1971. It was created to advance the representation of minority professionals in the transportation industry and nurture their career growth through networking and training.
For 15 years, Acumen’s President and CEO Walter Allen has been a COMTO member and active in both its Northern California and Southern California chapters. His articles have been published in COMTO’s Accelerate Magazine. Acumen supports COMTO’s mission of inclusion and diversity in the transportation space and has participated in internships through COMTO and the Federal Transit Administration; donated to the organization’s scholarship fund; and donated turkeys to 25 families in Southern California in 2020.
