The goal of this project for the Contra Costa Transportation Authority was to develop two Community-Based Transportation Plans that included locally identified transportation needs and the solutions to address them for the cities of Concord and Martinez in Northern California. Solutions included better connections to transit centers, improved bicycle/pedestrian infrastructure, direct access to retail or other enhanced amenities in the project area.
As a subconsultant to Nelson\Nygaard Consulting Associates, Acumen provided outreach services for the development of the plans, including providing Spanish-to-English interpretation, preparing meeting minutes at public meetings and surveying local community organizations about their transportation needs. Acumen also planned for and handled the logistics for drop-off and pick-up of surveys, doing in person interviews and translating the Spanish surveys into English.
