The Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) is a national, multi-ethnic professional organization founded in 1971. For 15 years, Acumen’s President and CEO Walter Allen has been a COMTO member and active in both its Northern California and Southern California chapters.
Founded more than 100 years ago, the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce remains one of the most influential forces in local government and regional economic development. Acumen continues to support the Chamber’s mission to secure the economic future of our community.
The mission of U.N.I.T.E Liberia is to continue helping to provide food, water and rice to the Liberian community and to operate a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) program, based in Liberia. In 2020 one of Acumen’s junior engineers traveled to Liberia in support of this program.
As transit experts, Acumen’s staff values the bicycle as one of our favorite modes of transportation. Acumen reinforced that passion by joining the 7th Annual Wheels for Meals Ride to benefit Meals on Wheels of Alameda County in its ongoing efforts to feed homebound seniors throughout Alameda County.
